A downloadable mod

Welcome to my 17th mod, and 25th contribution to the community overall!

After the release of Carnivore Disaster, it was inevitable that i would, once again, either mention Dino Crisis in a mod or, make a weapon mod based on this game i love so much.

And today, you'll be able to fully immerse in this universe either as Dylan or Regina, score points, chain combos and buy your weapons, just like the original game.

Like any Cosmobyte™ mod, you can do that in Heretic, Hexen or even Chex Quest, and also, you can fuse this mod with whatever monster pack or mapset you have in mind!

You'll need a sourceport such as LZDoom or GZDoom to play this file. I also recommend looking at launchers like ZDL or Ace Doom Launcher to combine this with other mods.

This is just AMAZING my friend! hats down with your incredible work! However I have a few ideas that I would like to share with you: I wonder if it's possible to add more Dinosaurs maybe to have a little wider enemy variety? And also to create like a "Timer" option just like in the Battle with the Giganotosaurus in DC2 where we just press a key, and a 10 or 5 minutes timer (or a customizable) timer would appear, and if the time is up, we die. That would make some Maps like Tower of Babel or Dis much more enjoyable and challenging!

Thank you! As soon as i can get my hands on model-ripped dinosaurs, i'll gladly expand the Carnivore Disaster roster!

As for the Giganotosaurs timer, thanks for your suggestion! I'll think if i can find a way to do it!

It could use some tuning, like:

  • Locking the camera view while in the Shop Menu;
  • Preventing multi-tapping in the menu while holding AltFire;
  • Showing how much Chain Mine and Firewall you have, the ammo limit for the current weapon;
  • Maybe while in the shop have the shop background be a little transparent.
  • A little description for the currently selected item in the shop would be nice, since it really makes me wonder what everything does.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind!!!

I'm a huge Dino Crisis fan and dinosaur myself, having recently learned how to do texture modding for the Classic REbirth fan mods. I came across this mod as a post in the Discord community of the Dino Crisis subreddit. I ended up buying Heretic today because it was on sale, I tested the mods including Carnivore Disaster, and they worked great.

Thank you. You have the honor of enlightening me with the world of Doom modding and also getting me into the boomer shooter genre. I've always wanted to play decent dinosaur shooters, but most games out there aren't really that good. I never knew that Doom mods are the answer to that.

If i made a Dino Crisis fan happy, then my work is complete =)

I played the heck out of DC2 when i was little, loved it too much. The doom community helped me greatly to make the mod closer to home.

Have fun with those dinosaurs!!!

Hi there. Sadly I haven't played as much due to other IRL stuff, but I've got a quick question. What's the purpose of the Dino Crisis 1 menu sounds.pk3 file?

I just got curious since it's listed in the downloads but I never saw the need to use it because the Dino Crisis 2 Mod [010524] folder pretty much has everything I needed to run the mod.

Hi! It's a mere aesthetic pack that replaces the menu sounds with the Dino Crisis 1 sounds. The reason i made this is because there is a Dino Crisis 2 demo made for the E3 of 2000 which still had these sounds, as the game wasn't ready yet.

Oh I see, I have heard of that DC2 demo for E3. Thanks very much for the response.
